No sedation is required for your pet's laser therapy treatments, which often have a calming effect on our patients.Depending on the condition being treated, most pets exhibit improvement within 12 to 24 hours. For most conditions we recommend a series of treatments, each lasting only about five to fifteen minutes. Some treatments take a little longer, depending on the size of the area being treated.

Laser Therapy is particularly beneficial to cats who are sensitive to anti-inflammatories!
What our clients say:
"...we saw an improvement almost immediately. Where Ruby would have noticeable walking problems about once a week, even to the point of using the wall to help her walk, we have not seen this since. We used to have to help her up steps by supporting her from behind. Now she bounds up the steps with no problem. She also rises from a sleeping position much easier than before treatment. If we took her on too long of a walk she would pay for it for a couple of days but now can go further with no consequences. All in all I find the Laser Therapy to be a wonderful option in treating Ruby Dee's spinal problem. I have in fact recommended it to people who have asked about her health. I hope everyone who has a dog with physical problems try this fantastic treatment." (T.A.)
Cedar Pet Clinic Lake Elmo is proud to offer Class IV laser therapy to our clients as an effective treatment for many cases of acute and chronic pain, inflammation and wound healing. Laser therapy can be used alone or in conjunction with other treatement modalities, and has the benefit of being a drug-free, non-surgical, safe means and providing lasting pain relief.
Laser Therapy uses light to penetrate tissue in a process called photobiostimulation. Studies have shown many clinical benefits, including:
Reduced Inflammation - Laser therapy dilates the blood vessels and stimulates lymphatic circulation, helping to reduce inflammation.
Pain Relief - Laser therapy provides pain-killing, or analgesic, effects. It has direct effect on nerve cells, including suppression of receptors that send pain signals to the brain. It also increases production of endorphins and enkephalins, which are the body's "natural pain-killers."
Pain Relief - Laser therapy stimulates activity within cells, resulting increased oxygen, increased production of the energy molecule ATP(adenosine-triphosphate), and increased enzyme production. These actions help tissue to heal more quickly and reduce the formation of scar tissue. Surgical incisions and other injuries benefit from treatement with laser therapy.
Laser therapy has been used in the United States to treat humans for everything from sports injuries to rheumatoid arthritis. We are excited to provide this advanced technology to our canine and feline patients. Ask us if your pet might benefit from this affordable, non-invasive, drug-free technology. Your pet will be glad you did!

What our clients say:
"Our cat Puck, who’ll turn 20 this year and has chronic pain, is jumping up to her favorite perches, is more talkative and chatty, and just more interactive with us. She eats extra food, and spends less time in bed. Plus, we like the fact that there are no side effects with the laser." (J.S.)
"Our Bernese Mountain Dog Walter has come for the laser treatments. He's only two years old, but was moving and acting like a geriatric. He's a new dog! He has actually been able to get up on his hind legs to play with Murray, our other Berner. Walter could be a poster child for the Class IV laser!" (K.C., Lakeland, MN)
"Just one laser treatment made a huge difference for Daisy, our 15 year old arthritic kitty. She promptly walked around the whole house, joyfully talking, and now, several treatments later, she seeks us out to play with her. It’s so amazing to know that Daisy, an athletic spirited kitty in her youth, can again enjoy herself." (E.W.)
